Cadence

Why we are building this

Dental software in Australia is mostly old, mostly expensive, and mostly sold on a long contract. A good deal of it was written for another market and adapted afterwards, which is why so much of it treats GST, item numbers and record retention as configuration rather than as the rules they actually are.

The bigger problem is that it stops at the chair. The website is somebody else’s product. Recalls are a spreadsheet, or a person who remembers. The enquiry that arrived on Saturday is an email. A practice ends up paying four vendors to hold four halves of the same patient, and doing the joining by hand.

Cadence is one system for the whole loop — the website that brings a patient in, the chair time, the treatment they agreed to, and the recall that brings them back. It is not more software for the clinical half. It is the other half, joined to it.

Four things we will not do

We will not hold your data hostage

Export at any time, cancel from inside the product, keep reading your records afterwards. A practice cannot function without its patient history, and using that as leverage is the oldest move in this industry.

We will not invent proof

We have not launched. You will not find a customer count, a logo wall or a star rating anywhere on this site, because we would have to make them up. When there are practices happy to be named, they will appear — and not one day before.

We will not pretend to be finished

There is a section on the homepage listing what the product does not do. It will stay accurate as the list gets shorter, which is the only way a list like that is worth anything.

We will not read your records without a reason

Support has no clinical access by default. When a problem genuinely requires it, access is time-boxed, carries a written reason, and appears in a log you can read.
